Spotlight : Dinner A Love Story by Jenny Rosenstrach

For this weeks spotlight we’ve decided on a book that is bound to be needed in pretty much every household. Can you name one person you know who can honestly say there is enough time in the day to cook/go to work/drop the kids off/go to the gym/go shopping/bring kids to sports/make dinner? No? Well, that’s not surprising seeing as life is so busy these days for everyone. We barely have time to breathe let alone cook a healthy meal and sit down to eat as a family.

For this reason, we really thought that our spotlight should be on Dinner : A Love Story by Jenny Rosenstrach. This is a cookbook that is essential and will help you plan your nights and make time to cook, eat and be a family. After all, what’s all the work and the rushing around worth if you can’t even enjoy a moment of peace with your loved ones?

Jenny Rosenstrach runs a popular blog by the same title as her book (www.dinneralovestory.com) and has successfully taken her blog ideas and put them into book form. Her idea for a blog/cookbook revolving around family dinner came to her when a friend of hers broke down and confessed she didn’t know what to cook for her children. Realizing that this was probably an issue in many households, Jenny took her friend under her wing as her “muse” and things started lining up. Before long, the blog was born and now the cookbook.

Dinner : A Love Story is broken into three phases : Just Married, New Parenthood and Family Dinners. The recipes include everything from Chicken Pot Pie with Sweet Potatoes to Playdate Cookies and are easy to make as well as delicious.

If you’ve ever wondered what in the world to make your famiyl for dinner and need some inspiration to make something great that everyone will enjoy, then this book is for you. You won’t regret buying it, especially when your family tells you just how good of a cook you really are!

Happy Eating!
